    Widely recognized for her vision and creativity, Angela Blanchard is President and CEO of Neighborhood Centers Inc. — named by the Houston Business Journal as the Number 1 charitable non-profit organization in the Houston area.

    In recognition of her skills as a leader and catalyst for change, Angela has received numerous awards, including the “Edward A. Smith Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership” from the Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership, and the “2007 Everyday Freedom Hero Award” from the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center for her work as an advocate for our nation’s working immigrants. Angela was also voted one of Houston's 50 Most Influential Women of 2009 by the Houston Woman Magazine (2009).

    In the 39 years since, Sue has raised a family, owned a small business, started and led nonprofit organizations, worked in the corporate world and been a leader in politics.

    Today, Sue Lovell is Houston’s City Council Member At-Large, Position 2. She also serves Vice Mayor Pro Tem—a position to which she was elected unanimously by her colleagues on the City Council.
